Where have you been???

I know that's what most of yall are saying..(Mr. Tommy)..I haven't written a blog in almost a year!! YES!! This is crazy. But I sat down today and thought that I would start writing again. I feel as though I have a lot I want to say about what has been going on with me and Thomas since we got married! I guess I'll just start!

Well, we moved into a new place in Atlanta about a week before the wedding since Thomas found out about his new job just three weeks before. We definitely knew that this was where God wanted us and not Aspen anymore. We knew that God had bigger plans for us than we could think of and we are very happy to be here and are ready to see what God does!! We moved into the new apartment and it is wonderful!! It isn't fully decorated but it is our home and we love it so much!! It really does feel like our home and I am so glad that we can finally be together at home and neither one of us has to leave at night. I'll definitely try and put some pictures up soon of our place and what we have done to it.

Thomas also started his job. It definitely has been a roller coaster of emotions this first month of work, but God is definitely taking care of him through all of it and He is also using me to be there for him too. I am very happy that I can be there for Thomas through all of this! I definitely feel like a wife!! I know that every day will not be easy but I will always be here for him!! I am proud of what he is accomplishing there. Some of the people over him have already said that they liked his stuff and appreciate all that he is doing there. I know that God is using him in that place! Just say a silent little prayer for him every morning if you could for me!

Speaking of work, I haven't found anything yet. It is really frustrating because I have a degree and would really love to work! If you know me, you know that I get bored really easy when I am by myself so think about me all day long by myself watching tv. NO FUN!! It was harder the first couple of weeks, but now I am having FAITH in the Lord to know that He is going to provide through it all. His timing is perfect!! and I need to remember that everyday! If your reading, try to remember that God brings you to each new day for a reason and that He is going to use you somehow and if you think you aren't where you want to be, God has you there for a reason. You just have to trust!! I'll say a prayer for yall every day if you wouldn't mind praying for me as well! But God will provide..I just have to trust everyday! And I know I will be where I need to be when the job gets here!

And, overall things have been great this summer! We just found the church that we are now starting to go to. It is called City Church-Eastside and me and Thomas both know that this church is where God has called us to serve and worship with Him! We cannot wait to see what God is going to do!! I also went to the beach with my parents for half a week and had a great time. But it is really hard being away from my husband! I don't think I will leave like that anytime soon. I love when he is with me!!

Anyway, we are having a great time being married!! Keep up with us because I will definitely be writing more!!

My how fast this semester has flown by....

I was sitting here watching the Georiga/Auburn game and was thinking...what can I do now?..so I decided to blog since I have not in SUCH a LONG time! I know that Mr. Tommy and Mrs. Leslie are going to be excited that I am writing this...lol.

But yes, I haven't blogged since July. That is so crazy, but there is a reason why. For one, I started my student teaching at the beginning of this semester and then I had no time for anything but that. I thought that I might be able to take a Saturday or Sunday and write something, but even my weekends were overtaken by writing lesson plans and planning for the next week. So throughout the entire semester, I was busy doing nothing but school and planning. Student teaching went alright. There were ups and downs, good days and bad days, but I guess that is how jobs are always going to be. I really did enjoy being able to take control of the classroom and teach, but overall, there were just too many other things that made me realize that teaching in whole group instruction is not for me. I know that you all want to know the reason why, but you will just have to ask me because I don't want to say anything bad on here and it could take forever. But I know that God has a plan and He is already placing people in my life and situations in my life to help guide me in the right direction for what He has planned for me and my future job. I am so excited to see what happens next semester since I am taking it off to prepare for the wedding. I am just praying that God will show me what He wants and will just put me directly in the place that me and Thomas need to be. I am graduating in a few weeks and will be done with school for a little bit. But again, I am excited to see what the future holds!

So with the wedding, things are going great! I have all the big things planned from the place, to the food, to the pictures, to the dj, to the videographer, to the cake baker and to the florist. But I do know that there are so many other things that me, my mom and Thomas need to do to get everything ready for the big day!! Me and Thomas did get our engagement pictures taken at the beginning of October and we love them!! Our photographers are the Altmix's. I knew Kate since college and when her and her husband became photographers, I just knew I had to have them as mine!! They are truly awesome people and I am glad that they get to spend the big day with us as well. Like I said above, I am taking next semester off to finish finalizing everything for the big day. I will be going home and helping my mom finish everything that we need to finish. I am so looking forward to this big day because I get to spend the rest of my life with the most amazing person that God has given to me to be my husband!!

I will definitely try and keep things updated through the holidays and next semester as we prepare for the big wedding day! Keep checking in!

My month of July

Ok, so I just realized that I haven't blogged in a long time. But then I realized that July was such a busy month and I didn't have time to sit down and blog at all. But here is an update of how July went by so fast!!

Well, at the end of June, Me and my future-sister-in law went to New Orleans for an entire week! We got to hang out during the day doing different things and then hang out with Thomas at night. We went bowling at Rock-in-Bowl one night (which by the way is the best place ever to bowl) and downtown on Burbon Street to a Jazz place one night. We did get to eat lunch with Thomas everyday as well! I think that Melissa (FSIL) took a nap everyday while I played SIMS on her computer. We enjoyed this vacation just as much as I think Thomas enjoyed having us!

Then we came home on July 3rd because some of us were walking/running the Peachtree the next day! We were tired when we got back home on Friday, but still had to get up at 5am the next morning to head to the race. This Peachtree was probably the best one that I have ever ran because I ran it 56 minutes! That's 6.3 miles in 56 minutes! I was so proud of myself! Then the rest of the 4th was spent eating and going to see fireworks with Thomas's parents. It was a really good weekend!

The next thing that happened was my roomate got married on July 18th! That week I decided to stay at the apt and spend it with her. We got to hang out before other family and friends came into town on Friday. The rehearsal and rehearsal dinner went great on Friday night! All of the bridesmaids stayed up and talked for a while! It was good to catch up with some friends that have moved away. Then the day of the wedding came and everything came together perfectly. We had a brunch, got our hair done, and then headed to the church for pictures! The wedding was at 7pm and was so pretty! Sarah and Chris were so excited and I was excited for them as well!! They have moved away now, but I know that I will visit them and definitely stay in touch as well!

Then the next week I went to Kids Camp with my church. This week was filled with worship, having fun, and eating. It seemed as though we ate every two hours! LOL. The kids really seemed to enjoy every minute of the week! God was definitely at work in the kids lives and in the adults as well!

Then right after we got back from kids camp, I headed to my grandparents to head to the beach with my family! We got a huge room because my entire immediate family came including my grandma and pop and my brother and his kids. We had 9 people in one room! It turned out to be a fun week just laying on the beach and hanging out with my family! I couldn't believe that July was coming to an end!

Then the day after we got back, I got moved into my new house! My mom, dad, both brothers, and my brother's father-in-law helped me move in! I was so thankful to have them come and help me because I definitely could not have done it alone! We got everything moved in and decorated as well! I love having my own room and bathroom. It is the first time in my whole entire college career! I do miss my old roomie though!

Now that August is here, I have just been anticipating Thomas coming home and getting ready for school. I am student teaching this semester and still do not know whose classroom I am in. This is something that has been bothering me since the beginning of August, but I know that God knows where I am supposed to be and He knows that it is the perfect place for me as well! I am just giving it all to Him and trying not to worry about it even though I am nervous. Thomas comes home on Saturday and me and his parents are going to go help move him back! I have looked forward to this day since the day he told me he was going there for the summer, so you should know that I am SO EXCITED and READY TO SEE HIM! I promise that I will blog more often! Hope that you enjoyed reading about how my July went this summer!

Boomerang Express

Sorry I haven't blogged in a while! I've been so busy this past week that I haven't had time to! But here are my VBS pictures from about 3 weeks ago. I found out about 2 Sundays before hand that I was going to have to decorate my room because the teacher would not be able to. I was ok with this because I love decorating things, but I did not have anything and was nervous that my teacher would not like it. So, from then on, I was so worried about it and thought that it was going to be such a terrible room. Then my future sister-in-law calls me and tells me that she has some stuff for me to use for my room! I was so excited because the things that she had fit perfectly into the room! I was so thankful for her and for her providing the decorations for me. She was not supposed to do a VBS at the church where she got the stuff, but God knew exactly what was to happen so I am glad that she went and worked with them! She was a life saver and I am so thankful for her!

My future mother-in-law also came and helped me put up my decorations that Sunday before VBS began. We stayed there for about 4 hours and if I had done it by myself, it would have probably taken me much longer. So I was very thankful for her to take her time to come and help me! I definitely am very blessed to be coming into a family that loves me just like my own family loves me!

Our church did the "Boomerang Express" theme which I loved! The music was great and my favorite songs were the "Follow You" and "Working on my Serve." I think that the music part has been and will always be my favorite part of VBS. The music this year really showed the students what it meant to follow Jesus and to have Him in their lives. I just loved it so much! Just look through the pictures and see how much fun we had!

We were the WALKABOUTS!! (I'm not really sure what that is but it was still fun)

G'Day Mate!

The children's minister's wife ran the crafts for 3rd through 5th grade. She did a great job!

Some of the students working on their crafts

This was the main stage area in the sanctuary. The leaders did a great job of putting everything together! I know that I would not have done this good of a job!

Overall, VBS was a hit with everyone! We had some kids who had never been to church before, some that went to other churches, and some that were regulars at this church. But in the end, every student was touched some how and really opened up. This VBS was great and I know that God was there showing us Him in all that we did!! I am so thankful to have a church like this that I can be apart of while at college! The Lord has truly blessed me with this church family!

More pictures to come about the wedding!! I promise!!

Trolley Time

This is the last pictures of our trip to New Orleans! I was sad that I had to leave the next day but I am going back soon!!

We got to see Commander's Palace Restaurant! Top Chef people were here for the finale and we watched it on TV! That is me and Thomas's favorite TV show!

This cemetery was right across the street from Commander's Palace. Thomas's mom and aunt really wanted to see some cemetery's so we went to see this one. But when we got there, it was closed! It was still neat to see though.

This is Melissa and Aunt Becky on the trolley! Us four decided to ride it after dinner because Becky hadn't before! We had a lot of fun!

Me and Thomas on the trolley!

This is Melissa on the trolley! She wasn't looking but I still think that this is such a great picture of her!

This is the CVS where the trolley stopped at Canal Street. The sign makes the store look really big, but it is the same size as an other CVS store.

I am also going to post some pictures of visiting the wedding cake place soon! I am so excited about everything that is going on! This year is going to be awesome and I cant wait to marry my best friend!

New Orleans Part 2

Here are more pictures of our trip down to New Orleans! We went to the zoo the next day and stayed there for about 5 hours. I could not believe that we stayed there that long, but it was a lot of fun!! Enjoy viewing the pictures!!

We ate breakfast at the hotel and then went to look at Thomas's work place! It was really nice and I am glad I got to see where he was working.

Then, if you know me, we had to go to Starbucks for me to get my grande carmel frappuccino with whipped cream and extra-extra carmel!

The first animals we saw were the elephants! They performed for us and it was really neat. I thought that I was at the circus. LOL

We saw a albino alligator. He/She was huge and the only thing between me and him/her was a piece of glass. I was a little nervous!

I really liked the bears. Look closely and you can see him/her 's claws. I thought this bear was the cutest thing laying on the rock sleeping!

We also saw flamingos. This one was sleeping on one leg with his/her 's head tucked into
his/her 's body.

This white tiger was sleeping on a rock. My camera zoomed in pretty far so I could get this picture.

The giraffes were pretty. I think we looked in three different spots before we found the area where we could see them the best.

Im so glad I was with him! We had a long day at the zoo, but at least we were together!

This is the sign in front of the zoo. I didn't get it until we left. Oh and we talked about the dinosaur adventure the entire time we were there and when we got there, you had to pay 4 dollars to see the dinosaurs. How terrible is that! But we still had fun seeing everything else!

I will be adding more things about the wedding soon!

Trip to New Orleans

I finally have my camera cord so I can upload photos!! It makes me very happy, except for the fact that I had to download the program my camera goes with on my computer because the pictures would not up load on any other program. It just took forever to get pictures back on my computer, but now they are finally there and you can view them with me!

Here are the pics and comments of the trip to New Orleans to see Thomas! I miss him a lot but had a wonderful time down there visiting!

This picture is of canal street the first night we were there. I think that this street looks like Rodeo Drive, but I don't know for sure because I have never been there.

This is the first place we ate when we got there. It was Acme Oyster House and I tried fried shrimp for the first time. It was actually very yummy and I think I might try some again some other time!

This is the Jambalaya that Aunt Becky had to eat. She said that it was very good so I had to take a picture of it. *You might see more food pictures later on as well*

This is Mr. Tommy trying on masquerade masks in one of the stores downtown. I think he tried on three more of these in three different stores. LOL

These are the three amigos!! We were on our way to eat breakfast the next morning!!

This is what me and Thomas had for breakfast. I am not sure what it was called, but it sure was good. As you can tell, this was probably not the healthiest breakfast for me but we walked it off that day.

We then decided to go to the Aquarium after breakfast and these guys were my favorite. They seemed to be cleaning themselves and then turned to the audience and raised their arms up. I am not exactly sure what they were doing, but it was kinda weird and cute at the same time.

This is Thomas and Mr. Tommy smelling and touching a piece of dung from a dung beetle. But it really is not dung.

This is the only picture I got of the beignets that we ate from Cafe Du Monde. They were way too good, as you can tell!!

This is me and Thomas at the Insectarium. I love him so much!!

We finished the day off with dinner and celebrating Thomas's birthday! It was such a great day!

I have more pictures coming!! It just takes a while to get everything posted, but at least there are pictures now!!
